In Matara (located on the south coast about 190 km from the capital Colombo) a small school for mentally disabled students aged 4 to 20 years is located. Their former school building was destroyed during the tsunami and all furniture was lost. The current school building, which is actually too small for the number of students, is being rented. Because the school does not receive government support, the parents pay for everything themselves. At school, the children learn basic skills such as math, drawing, drama, etc. Also physiotherapy is given. In the future, they want to move to a larger and private building. However, the resources for this are currently lacking. In the short term, our help is needed to be able to purchase 10 teaching tables and 30 chairs; school materials such as exercise books, pencils and pens are also always needed. The costs for this are €1,150. Would you like to support this project? Love! You can transfer your donation to:
